The OOTYULRA organisers request every runner to carefully follow the event rules primarily crafted for the comfort and safety of everyone
The OOTYULTRA is a road race and after the official start of your race category, the race time will start ticking. The 60k course will remain open for 10:30 hrs, 30k for 5:30 hrs. The 15k category will have no cut off time, and all the finishers will get their finisher medal. Note the last mobile aid-station located approximately at the 12k mark, will be operational only for 2 hr 15 min from the race start.
All the 60k & 30k runners who are found to be on the course after the cut-off will be identified as Did Not Finish (DNF) and swept away by the race authorised race volunteers.
All the 60k & 30k reaching the finish line after the cut-off timing or reaching the finish line with any other means of transportation will not be eligible to get the finisher medal
DNF status will not get any finisher medal.
You must participate in your registered category only. For example, if you have registered for 60 Km category, you will get a finisher medal only when you complete 60 km within the cut-off time specified. A 60k runner cannot stop at 30k mark or a 30k runner at 15k mark and expect a finisher medal.
You will wear only the BIB allocated to you with your name and will not give this BIB to another runner to participate if you are unable to attend this event or unable to run anytime during the race.
You are not allowed to transfer or sell your BIB to another runner. If you wish to transfer your ticket to another runner write to email@example.com. Free transfers will be allowed before 10-Mar-2019 and after that there will be a transfer fee applied. For 30k & 60k ticket the runner receiving the transfer must meet the entry qualification conditions.
Cheating in any form will not be allowed. You will not take any lift/ride in vehicles of any kind and arrive at the finish line to claim a successful finish. If found cheating, you will be disqualified from the event, and an announcement with the name will be posted on the www.ootyultra.com website and also in the associated social media pages. You will also be debarred from entering any events organised by KaysFIT Academy in the future.
You must wear your BIB on your chest, and it must be visible till you complete your run.
You have a 10 mins window to start the race after the official flag-off is complete and you will not be allowed to start after that. The late starters will not get any additional time. Also, after 10 minutes the timing mat at the start point will be removed.
You must cross all the timing mats (at the start, and the 15k finish, 30k finish and 60k finish) to get a finisher medal. You will not be eligible to receive a finisher medal if you skip any of the timing mats.
You are allowed to pull out of the race anytime due to injury, sickness, fatigue or for reasons which are not listed here. Your health and safety is critical and please do not feel shy to approach our volunteers in case of any support
Dress appropriately, and no nudity / partial nudity is allowed.
Do not run under the influence of any severe medications, drugs, narcotics or other banned substances. Drinking is not allowed in the event.
Photo identification card - All non-Indian citizens will have to provide a photocopy of the front and back pages of their passport showing their photo identity and details of passport before receiving your BIB.
Armed personnel and Nilgiris District residents who have claimed a discount must show proof of identity before collecting your BIB/race kit.
All Indian citizens must show a copy of their government-issued ID card for verification before collecting your BIB/race kit.
Please do not negotiate with the organisers during the bib-collection if you do not have any identification to show. Your BIB will not be given without proper identification.
You can authorise another runner to collect your BIB/Race kit on your behalf by showing an authorisation email sent to firstname.lastname@example.org before the EXPO day.
The decision taken by the race director will be final, and you agree to cooperate with the crew and volunteers to serve us one of the best racing experiences.
Choose the event category carefully; confirmed registrations are non-refundable
You are allowed to downgrade your event category without any change of category charges on or before 10-Mar-2019. When you do an upgrade, your entry qualification pre-requisites must be met, and you must also pay the difference in the registration amount. Write a mail to email@example.com for the changes. No changes will be allowed after 10-Mar-2019.
You are allowed to transfer your registration to another qualified runner on or before 10-Mar-2019 without any additional charges. No refund will be provided. No changes will be permitted after 10-Mar-2019.
If you have found to have given wrong qualification records, your entry may be cancelled, or you may be downgraded to a lower distance category. No refund will be provided. You will also not receive the custom finisher medal. The organisers reserve the right to offer you an entry on the race day.
Please provide us with a secure email ID/mobile number that you can regularly access since this will be our primary means of communication during the run-up to the event.
Users of email services that offer filtering/blocking of messages from unknown email address should add this email id firstname.lastname@example.org.
We will be sending regular updates to the registered email address you have provided in the registration form this should be not treated as spam, and you shall not take any action against the organisers or the service providers.
Any notice sent to the email address registered with the organisers shall be deemed as received by the runners.
Please fill out the registration form fields that are necessary for mailing purposes. Do not provide redundant data in multiple fields (i.e., do not list the same data for a city, province, and country), as this will only complicate our ability to contact you, if necessary.
The organisers will have the right to change the start point, end point or the race route depending on the permissions from the local authorities.
OOTYULTRA is a road run, and there will be light vehicular traffic throughout the course. OOTY is in the forest area and wild animals like Bison, may be present, and you may encounter stray dogs near villages. You are expected to run with the company and follow the safety guidelines (will also be shared before the race). You are aware of the dangers and take full responsibility to be safe.
You shall consult your physician and undergo a complete medical examination to assess your suitability to participate in the event.
You also assume all risks associated with participating in this event including, but not limited to, falls, contact with other participants, the effects of the weather, including high heat or humidity, traffic and the condition of the road, arson or terrorist threats and all other risks associated with a public event. Only necessary First-Aid support will be provided. The nearest hospital is located in Ooty, 8 km from the finish point and 30 km from the farthest part of the run
You agree that OOTYULTRA shall not be liable for any loss, damage, illness or injury that might occur as a result of your participation in the event.
You agree to abide by the instructions provided by the organisers from time to time in the best interest of your health and event safety.
You also agree to stop running if instructed by the Race Director or the Medical Staff or by the Aid Station Volunteers.
You confirm that your name and media recordings were taken during your participation may be used to publicise the event.
You may acknowledge and agree that your personal information can be stored and used by OOTYULTRA or KaysFIT Academy any other company in connection with the organisation, promotion, and administration of the event and for the compilation of statistical information.
You confirm that, in the event of adverse weather conditions, major incidents or threats on the day, any of the force majeure or restriction by authority, the organisers reserve the right to stop/cancel/postpone the event.
You understand that your confirmed entry ticket is non-refundable. The organisers reserve the right to reject any application without providing reasons. Any amount collected from rejected application alone will be refunded in full (excluding administrative charges Rs. 500/- per ticket, GST already paid and bank transaction charges wherever applicable).
Refer to the FAQ section on the ticket transfer policy. Discounted tickets can be transferred to another eligible runner by paying the difference in the full ticket price + applicable taxes & online transaction charges.
For any reason you cannot turn up on race day, no refund of any form will be given. You will also not receive the custom medal or any freebies given to the runners.
Participants must personally appear for collecting the running Bibs on the day before the Ultra Marathon or follow the authorisation process set by the event director.
Runners will not be allowed to stay on the course beyond the cut-off time considering the safety and health issues. You will be taken to the finish line in rescue vehicles and will be considered as DNF.
